My name is Eliza, I’m 20 years old, I’m from Poland. I grew up in Poland for twelve years and moved to Ireland when I was twelve. I started my first year and I was moved up to third year when I was 14. I live in Ireland now for 8 years, it’ll be 8 years this year. I came here because my dad was working here and my mum was in Italy, and we all moved to Ireland. At the moment I have my social care at level three and I’m hoping to do nursing in the future.
Today I brought with me my diary. It’s 10 years old. My mama gave it to me when I was 10. I’ve been working on it since then, and it shows my transition. It reminds me of home because I got all my memories from back then and all my memories from Ireland. It’s really close to me because it shows myself and how I’ve been changing for the last 10 years.
I really miss my family and all my friends. But I’ve got some family here, so it’s gone well. We have Christmas and Easter and all that, so we try to keep up with it here. I’ve got my own Polish friends, so that’s enough for me.
