Nasim, Iran/Northern Ireland
My name is Nasim. I’m thirty years old, and I’m from Iran. I have been here for one year, and I love Derry.
I’m here because my husband is a student here at Ulster University, and I am independent of him. I bring one thing from Iran, a covering. Our moms, maybe, and Iranian women have to wear this one. It’s a chador. We have two kinds of chador, one of them is just for the praying, because in Islam, when you are going to pray, you have to – the woman has to – cover the body. And in my country we use this one. And the other one of these is very formal, for formal meetings, it’s better to wear that one.
